How do you use an eyelash serum?

Unfortunately, we still regularly come across how-to's and application advice that contain incorrect information on how to use lash serums. In the following 5 steps, we explain exactly how to apply Superlash lash serum correctly, what to look out for and, above all, what to avoid.

Start with a clean base before applying lash serum. Gently remove any make-up residue, oils or dirt from your lashes and eyelids with a mild cleanser. This ensures that the lash serum can be absorbed effectively and reduces the chances of an allergic reaction. Do you use contact lenses? Then take them off. You can put them back in after application.

When lashes reach the catagen phase, the hair follicle shrinks. If an eyelash falls out during this phase, it will not grow back immediately. The follicle has to complete the catagen phase before it moves on to the next phase. This transition phase takes two to three weeks.

Dip the applicator into the bottle only once, this is enough for both eyes. If necessary, wipe off excess serum from the edge of the bottle.

Less is more!

A common mistake: too much serum is used. This is unnecessary, and actually increases the risk of side effects. One dip of the applicator is enough serum for both eyes. Your lashes can only absorb a limited amount of nutrients at once.

Use the applicator and in one fluid motion, apply a thin line of the serum along the base of your upper lash line. Start at the inner corner and move towards the outer corner.

Similar to applying a liquid eyeliner. The aim is to apply the serum where the lashes touch the skin.

Blink your eyes!

Blink your eyes several times so that the lower lash hairs can also absorb enough lash serum.

A common mistake: smearing the lash serum on the lower eyelids. This is not necessary, blinking is more than enough.

Avoid contact with the eyes. Have you applied too much? If necessary, wipe it off with a cloth or wash it away with lukewarm water.

Let the serum dry for 2-3 minutes. Do not use any other products until the serum is completely absorbed. After 5, you can use other products or lie down if you applied it before bed.

Be consistent: Stick to the application method and apply it daily. Especially in the first three months.

Apply the lash serum in the evening. This provides the body's natural repair and growth process and ensures you get the optimal lash growth result.

Note the shelf life: After opening, a serum has a shelf life of 6 to 9 months. If you haven't used the serum for a long time, buy a new eyelash serum.
